MODALS TO EXPRESS POSSIBILITY / PROBABILITY

Modal verbs can express ability, obligation, permission, and request. They can also express the idea of probability, or how certain a situation is.

Must, Could, Might, Can't.

1. Must, could, might, and can´t are used to express degress of probability about the present:

2. They are used to express degrees of probability about the past (using the perfect infinitive):

3. They can also be used with the continous infinitive:

4. May can be used instead of might and could.
